This Tool calculates C02 produced by a kWh of electricity and then uses that information to determine the amount of home energy use, car exhaust, ect. with the equivalent amount of CO2. All data about equivalency was taken from the EPA Greenhouse Gas Equivalencies Calculator. You can use their calculator and read more about the development of their conversions here.
