Sidewalk calculation calculations are performed using a line of calculation points down the center of the side walk using the same longitudinal spacing as the roadway. The side walk calculation also includes 2 vertical illuminance grids one facing north and one facing south (up and down the roadway) that calculate vertical illuminance at a height of 1.5m.

Sidewalk illuminance calculations are performed after a pole spacing has been determined for the roadway. Sidewalks do not effect the pole spacing recommended for the roadway. Sidewalk calculation points are not displayed for clarity, however, the average results are displayed in the results section. Recommended results for sidewalks, the values that are displayed in brackets, are only displayed if a sidewalk class is selected.
